Keeping your information safe

At The Kite Trust all our services are confidential. That means we will not tell anyone, without your permission, that you are in contact with us or what you tell us.

That would only change if we thought you or someone else was at risk of serious harm. If we did have to talk to someone else to help keep you safe, we would always try to talk to you about that first.

What personal information do we collect from you and why?

If you are a young person using our service then we will ask for these things on the basis of ‘legitimate interest’:

Personal Information Why do we collect it
Name, address, phone numbers, email So we can contact you about appointments and keep in touch during your time with us
Gender, sexuality, caring status, ethnicity, current education/work status So we can monitor and improve our services and ensure we’re reaching all the young people we need to. This information will be recorded anonymously.
Date of birth, information about your health and situation This is so we can match you to a service that can help you.

Who will we share it with?

All our services are confidential. We will not discuss you with anyone outside of The Kite Trust without your permission, unless we believe you or someone else may not be safe. We would then contact other services that could help – we will always try and get your permission first.

Some ‘third party’ organisations may have access to your information. Examples are our client database company and our appointment making software. They are all GDPR compliant and your data will be protected.

What if I am a supporter of The Kite Trust?
